Axelrod Sends Second White House E-Mail to Non-Subscribers

Here is a copy of a second e-mail sent this week by the White House to citizens who did not opt-in to any White House list or e-mail the White House for any reason. The communication was sent by Senior Adviser to the President, David Axelrod ,on August 13, the same day the White House refused to disclose why these people received the first e-mail sent the beginning of the week. Major Garret, Fox News, said the network, using the "Freedom if Information Act", has filed to have the information released.

What is the White House thinking? Aside from the fact that at the least, they are probably spamming or fishing for e-mail addresses, this e-mail message subtly reveals White House thinking that some could call reminiscent of George Orwell's 1984. For example, one sentence referring to the opposition says, "Unfortunately, some of the old tactics we know so well are back. Even the viral emails that fly unchecked and under the radar, spreading all sorts of lies and distortions."

Think about that statement for a minute. Is the implication that our e-mail should be checked by perhaps a flying e-mail czar as we communicate with each other about our concerns and disagreements with government and share family news and recipes? Ooops! Forgot! That monitoring is already being implemented by disinformation guru, Linda Douglas, who requested that we e-mail the White House about anything "fishy" being circulated about the health care plan. Stinks, doesn't it?

Axelrod's incredibly lengthy propaganda piece includes all the same old, nice sounding talking points in favor of the plan to date, but still doesn't answer questions that have been proposed at dozens of town hall meetings where these questions also go unanswered. For example, how does the government propose paying for this whopping program? "Betcha" they don't really know!

Nice try, Axelrod, but your message is still vague and misleading. Your list includes some whats but no whys and hows.
