Mr. President: Your Man Made California Dust Bowl - The Pooring Down of America?
Warning: This will be considered radical by some. Others will think these points of view are right on. Read it and draw your own conclusions.
I am a peaceful person, but I have to admit, it would not surprise me if the citizens of the California Delta and a lot of sympathizers from around the country, band together, turn on the water and stand guard over the San Joaquin Valley. And most reasonable people, regardless of political affiliation, would support those activists.
Doesn't it bother you Mr. President, that under your watch, a huge, rich, farm area is now a 21st Century dust bowl? That some 400,000 acres are barren and soon a million acres will lie dead as rich top soil disappears in the wind? That prolific almond trees, fruit trees, and vegetables that used to help feed this nation are no more? That unemployment in the area reached 41% —- all because the government turned off the water? What kind of tyranny are you practicing? You have created an unnecessary drought that will come back to haunt you, and I suspect every Democrat in Congress who wants to be reelected next year.
There is more to this than saving a three inch fish or salmon or steelhead. It's about the Endangered Species Act, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service run amuck. Its about The Natural Resources Defense Council and a 2006 lawsuit that's even more ridiculous than they are.
Its about government who gazes through green colored glasses and sees only the environment and money, because the environment can make the radicals that are taking over Washington, rich while they appease an even bigger group of progressive-socialist-Marxists behind the scenes.
Think about it. When all the citizens are poor, the poor citizens have no power. Government has managed to poor-down one of the richest farmlands in the country in a matter of months. Where is the next target? Who are the next victims? Is it you? Your neighborhood, county, state? And what will the excuse be?
The obvious somehow escaped Congress and the President. When the stimulus bill and the bailout were passed, the fishy problem had been swimming around for a couple of years. Why didn't someone put some money in one of those monstrosities to figure out a plan for the San Joaquin Valley? To save the smelt and solve the problems between farmers and corporate fish farmers instead of just leaving the area high and dry?
There are a lot of unnecessary allocations in the stimulus and bail out bills —- things that are much less critical than the California Delta. For example:
And let's not forget our Madam Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, who should have shed a tear last week for these farmers. Again, she is not the leader you would expect and certainly has done nothing to help the plight of these devastated citizens in her own state — and she could throw a little weight around. Absent again, Pelosi?

There are a lot of unnecessary allocations in the stimulus and bail out bills —- things that are much less critical than the California Delta. For example:
- $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers so they can buy film. (What?)
- $650 million for the digital converter box coupon program. (Television addicts could find their own resources.)
- $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion. (Probably reduced now that Acorn is no longer involved.)
- $6 billion to turn Federal buildings into "green" buildings. (There's that word again!)
And let's not forget our Madam Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, who should have shed a tear last week for these farmers. Again, she is not the leader you would expect and certainly has done nothing to help the plight of these devastated citizens in her own state — and she could throw a little weight around.
